To create this image, Steve Schapiro collaborated with the artisans at S2 in utilizing the atelier's proprietary printing process called "fusion". Using the artist's original negative as the basic matrix, the photographic image was separated mechanically on to four separate plates.

Thereafter, six additional plates were created by hand by the atelier's skilled artisans making a total of 10 separate plates. Printer proofs were pulled at the S2 atelier, which were then examined, corrected, and finally approved by the artist. Each lithograph in the edition was pulled, 10 separate times, through a German, Dufa lithography press. After the entire edition was pulled, all plates utilized were eradicated, cancelled, or destroyed.
